Heartfelt Thanks

This is the thank you card I made after the birth of my daughter. It was a very difficult time in my life. I was recovering from an emergency caesarean along with suffering from sever postpartum depression. It was amazing how many people came out of the woodwork to help me and my family. I had meals delivered every night for 2 weeks. Groups came over to clean my house. They donated diapers and two years worth of baby clothes. Needless to say, I made a lot of these cards.

The image was rolled with a wheel in black ink and color washed with aqua painters. I layered it over torn cardstock. The "Thanks" tag is anchored with hodgepodge hardware treaded through twill tape and set off with grosgrain ribbon.

The Heart Can Do Anything

I stamped the sketched image with Stazon black and added color with an aqua painter for a watercolored effect. Embellishments include pieces from the copper hodgepodge hardware kit and grosgrain ribbon.

Happy For Sno

This simple scrapbook page features a color blocking layout and is embellished with stamped snowflakes to match the colors in the layout. Although not traditionally colors for winter layouts, I chose them because of their strong masculine feel that complimented the photo of my son, Brandon.

Girl In a Field

The image of the girl in the field was inked with watercolor techniques using an aqua painter. I ran the base of the image through a paper crimper and then across a perfect plum ink pad. The top is embellished with a faux knot.

More Petal Prints

This was one of my favorite stamp sets and I was sad when it didn't make it into the main catalog. I layered torn and crumpled cardstock that had been inked for texture and depth. The corner fold-up is anchored with moss eyelets and tied with black gingham ribbon.

Enjoy Your Day

Created for one of my stamp camps, this card used craft ink on a flower chipboard piece as the focal point. For additional embellishments, I used twill tape, stitched ribbon and silver brads.

Dream

Every year, when a new SU idea book and catalog is due to come out, my group always gets together to swap cards made with the new hostess sets. The sets I used for this one are from the 2006-2007 catalog. What's cool about this card is that it incorporates a color from each of the 4 color families, yet they work well together.

Delight In Life

Last spring, I participated in charity event for breast cancer survivors. The ladies in this group meet once a year for fun, relaxation, camaraderie and support. My friend Dave and I designed and prepared several projects for them to make and take home with them. What a blast! This card is one of the projects we did.
